Dentro del programa de innovación STEAM Aeroespacial, y siguiendo el itinerario propuesto para los centros educativos participantes en el mismo; los alumnos de 4ºA y los que cursan la asignatura de tecnología en 4ºESO y 1º-2º Bachillerato han realizado una visita educativa al Parque de las Ciencias de Granada.
Durante la visita al han participado en un taller didáctico para descubrir la robótica,instrumentos astronómicos y las leyes de Newton ; mediante una visita guiada han profundizado en el estudio de la exploración espacial a través de dos exposiciones y actividades experimentales: "Tocar el Cielo. Explorar el Espacio" y "Step into Space"; y en la sesión del planetario han visionado las proyecciones "Viajando con la Luz" y "Beyond the Sun".
El Proyecto STEAM "Investigación Aeroespacial aplicada al aula", tiene como objetivo fundamental acercar al alumnado al estudio y a la investigación aeroespacial. Como "Participantes del Proyecto STEAM: Nivel I" en el que participa el IES Juan López Morillas, se promueve el desarrollo en el aula de actividades así como visitas educativas a entidades aeroespaciales, buscando fomentar el interés del alumnado por las vocaciones que integren la ciencia, la tecnología y las matemáticas en conexión con las artes y las humanidades; buscando despertar la inquietud del alumnado por el conocimiento dentro de un ámbito STEAM y la investigación aeroespacial.
