El IES Juan López Morillas ha participado dentro del Programa ALDEA en los proyectos: Recapacicla y Semilla.
El alumnado ha estado recuperando la zona del Portillo a través de su trabajo coordinado por el profesor de Biología y Geología y Jardinería, Juan Porcel Gallego; Salvador Mesa, presidente de la Asociación Ecocultural "Huerto de la Cora" de Jódar, Miguel Ángel Yanes, técnico de Medio Ambiente del Ayuntamiento de Jódar, la Asociación Guardabosques de Jódar, y Enrique Yerves, Director de nuestro IES. Las familias han apoyado con entusiasmo la labor de sus hijos, el centro, las asociaciones y el Ayuntamiento.
Con el programa Semilla se han recolectado semillas de especies autóctonas para luego reforestar zonas degradadas como el Portillo. Se está trabajando con los Doctores en etnobotánica, Salvador Mesa, y zoología, Miguel Yanes, para la introducción de especies botánicas de áreas semidesérticas que se adapten lo máximo posible a las zonas degradadas.
Que el alumnado se encargue de esta labor les indica que son parte también de la solución a problemas de degradación de estas zonas, indica Juan Porcel Gallego.
Merecida entrega de premios para tod@s ell@s.
La entrega de premio tuvo lugar en el Salón de Actos "Pedro Martínez Montávez" del IES Juan López Morillas. En el acto fueron premiados las y los discentes de Formación Profesional Básica del módulo de jardinería en reconocimiento a su labor medioambiental en el centro y en la localidad.
Al acto también asisten Dª. Yolanda Caballero Aceituno, Delegada Territorial de Educación, D.Juan Eugenio Ortega, Delegado Territorial de Medio Ambiente, D. José Luís Hidalgo, Alcalde de Jódar, y prensa local.
Reciben un premio de Aula de la Naturaleza, y tan sólo dos centros de la provincia de Jaén lo han recibido. El IES Acebuche del Cantalar y el IES "Juan López Morillas" de Jódar.
